“Lord Algie” has quite a musical heritage, the son of jazz musician Algie deWitt III who played sideman with the likes of John Coltrane and Pharoah Saunders and maternal Grandson of Billy Ward [Robert Williams] of Billy Ward and the Dominoes pioneering in 40s – 50s DooWop, starting the careers of Clyde McPhatter and Jackie Wilson.. [most famous for his song "60 Minute Man"] as well as 3rd cousin to Dorothy Dandridge. [really.. no bs. we couldn't make this up!]

Lord Algie, born Algie deWitt IV, grew up in Philadelphia influenced by all types of music.. from Coltrane to Led Zepp to Coke Escovedo, Sergio Mendez, Sting, Santana, Ella, as well as the top soul artists Stevie Wonder, Cold Blood, Marvin Gaye, EWF, Kool and The Gang and more.. early influences definitely came in the form of HipHop where LA first cut his teeth.. Lord Algie has been a street DJ, radio announcer, club DJ, publisher and novice producer for over 20 years. now working through his recording company MAMi Muzik / MAMi Magazine.

Lord Algie is focusing on producing intricate soundscapes.. rhytmic, tonal ecstasy to compliment his ventures in art, photography, publishing.
