Tatyana Ali! Love That Girl!
As some of us grew up with her, we can’t help but remember her as Ashley Banks on the “Fresh Prince of Bel Air”. But Tatyana Ali has grown up, and is a strong, educated, multi-talented actress and recording artist. Though having been in the industry from age four Tatyana is not your average child celebrity. She didn’t fall into the cliché Hollywood trap of drunken all night parties and scandals. “My parents would not have any of that!” Instead she took some time off and attended Harvard University to fulfill her love for education.

Since then she has played many different roles and has also began producing with her sister Anastasia. “Buppies”, the latest web series on BET is just one of her several projects. She also co-produced “Love That Girl” created by Bentley Kyle Evans (“Martin”, “The Jamie Foxx Show”) that will be airing on T.V1 on January 19th. “It’s an extremely funny sitcom about a woman who got married too young, has gotten divorced and is in the midst of trying to figure out who she really is.”
Tatyana is also in the recording studio putting the finishing touches on her latest album “The Light” due out in April. Produced by Johnny J (“All Eyez on Me”, “Me Against the World”), songs written by Tatyana, the album is a collection of R’n’B with a touch of old school hip-hop. “I was very influenced by Denise Williams, Mary J. Blige and Gladys Knight. I wanted to create music that had meaning and inspired people.”
She has come a long way from our favorite after school T.V show and is not showing any signs of slowly down soon. “It’s amazing, you work so hard for so long and all of a sudden everything comes to you at the same time. It’s very exciting!”
Pop culture mega-star and Will Smith’s kid cousin on worldwide syndicated show “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”, Tatyana Ali, is breaking ground this upcoming year with a starring role in Martin Lawrence’s new sitcom, “Love That Girl,” premiering on January 19th. “Love that Girl” portrays the trials and tribulations of a newly divorcee (Tatyana Ali) as she moves back to Southern California to work with her father in the real estate business. Unconventionally shot over the course of five days, “Love That Girl” brought together producing and writing heads from such hit shows as “Full House,” “Martin,” and “The Jamie Foxx Show” to create a new kind of scripted series at an unusually reasonable cost.
Tatyana was also recently nominated for a 2010 NAACP award this year for her role as “Roxanne” on CBS’s “The Young and The Restless,” A household name for over 15 years, Harvard graduate- Ali has conquered many aspects of the entertainment industry as a successful child star, singer/song writer, producer and most recently soap opera star.
In addition, in their first joint endeavor, sisters Tatyana Ali and Anastasia Ali of HazraH Entertainment teamed up with BET.com to produce a new web series titled “BUPPIES” (Black Urban Professionals), the first of its kind to feature an all African American cast with Tatyana in the starring role. With new episodes each week, “BUPPIES” centers on the misadventures of a dysfunctional crew of black, upwardly mobile quarter-lifers, desperately mining for the meaning of life in black Hollywood’s social wasteland. “Buppies” is a Bona fide hit with ratings through the roof!
