Aston Martin Super Sport

After the very powerful Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, we have with us the Aston Martin Super Sport Limited Edition supercar, which will sell for a whopping €7,500,000 (approx. US $9,668,750). Only eight examples of the supercar will be developed and produced in cooperation with Star Electric Cars France. The sports car will get its power from a twin-turbocharged 5.4-liter V8 engine delivering up to 950bhp. The engine has been mated to a six-speed manual transaxle, which is synced with an integral, torque-sensing, helical limited-slip differential. An F1 paddle shift gearbox is available as an option. The Aston Martin Super Sport Limited Edition will come with powder coated exhaust system, Brembo or AP carbon ceramic brakes and the in-trend carbon fiber bodywork.

SteamPunk After the much praised Steampunk-inspired pin collection called The Mechanical Kingdom, Disney Design Group artist Mike Sullivan has created a limited edition Vinylmation Steampunk set. The new Steampunk-inspired Disney merchandise includes six figures and is scheduled to be released in early 2011. Other than the limited edition figures, Mike has also created a limited edition Vinylmation Steampunk-inspired pocket watch. This Steampunk watch will be accompanied by a 3-inch figure, which has been inspired by the watch itself. Only 750 pieces will be made available in California and Florida in December 2010.

Ross Lovegrove and KiBiSi Design Urban Bikes After the limited edition bikes from Wallpaper, now we have the Danish bicycle company Biomega with its two new designer bicycles designed for urban locomotion. While the LDN bike has been designed by famous designer Ross Lovegrove (aka Captain Organic), the NYC bike is done by Danish design group KiBiSi. The LDN by Lovegrove flaunts a wishbone-shaped one-piece carbon fiber frame with a hole that allows the user to hang it up on the wall in order to save space. The designer has used the bike as a medium to display his organic essentialist sensibility. On the other hand, the NYC by KiBiSi follows Biomega’s heritage of chainless bikes and draws inspiration from the company’s CPH bicycle.

EarthQuake Proof Bed. A 66-year-old Chinese man named Wang Wenxi has been granted a patent for his innovative design of an earthquake-proof bed. This high-tech bed can automatically turn into a strongbox to help people survive an earthquake. On each end of the bed is the modular furniture including cupboards and a high-load bearing board the owners can use for regular storage needs. In case of the natural calamity, the components of the bed automatically combine to form a strongbox. The cupboards can be used for storing things, which are necessary for survival, thereby letting the victims live for days before being rescued.

Giuliano Mazzuoli Contagiri 8C Competizione Florentine designer and entrepreneur Giuliano Mazzuoli has lately taken wraps off the new Contagiri 8C Competizione watch to honor the celebrated sport tradition of Alfa Romeo. To celebrate the anticipated Contagiri timepiece, Giuliano Mazzuoli also organized an event where owners of the Alfa 8C participated to express their passion for motor sports and to celebrate the arrival of the watch. An upshot of four years of efforts, the Contagiri 8C Competizione watch boasts a black or argente dial with Arabic numerals. The watch inspired by the tachometer of a car flaunts a 13.30 mm thick case measuring 44 mm in diameter. The case has been done in stainless steel and black diamond-like-carbon (DLC) or 18-karat rose gold and titanium. For accurate precision, the watch relies on “Calibre GM Cambiosequenziale/01 alternance 10” mechanical self-winding movement. The watch mechanism includes 29 jewels and comprises 131 individual parts.
